I ve been asked to write my thoughts regards meeting other fellow magicians in Coventry and to tell you the turth I don't know where to start?

One of my really good magician friends who I meet up with on a regular basic is Martin a very keen and talented amateur performer who also lives in Coventry. And we only met through a friend of a friend who introduced us as she knew I as also into magic, you see I've heard it said many times magicians never reveal there secrets or they cant explain how it works because that would destroy the magic.

That is 100% matter of fact TRUE...to quote Christian Bale in the film The Prestige "people will beg and hound you for the secret and once you vex given it too them you nothing" Its our secrecy that's kept magic alive all these hundreds of years!

The Magic business is a strange place in the fact I could spend months working and not meet another performer yet go to a magician convention and its always the same familiar faces who I meet!

Another Magician friend I know Is a fellow working professional called Max Francis we meet up for the occasional chat discussing the latest goings on in the Magic community. We also pass each other work every now and then too!

The only other magicians I know who live in Coventry are the ones who attend the Coventry magic circle in Nuneaton every second Tuesday of the Month at these meetings they talk about the latest magic tricks or they ll watch a lecture from a fellow magician its very exciting stuff if your into that kind of thing!? (which of course we all are.

) I was a member of the lemington magic circle a few years back but with all the working away I do, I don't really have the time to attend the meetings which is ashamed as I used to love going.

The last meeting I attended at any Society was the Coventry magic Circle close up completion it was a joy to watch all my fellow magicians performing their new tricks for the first time in front of an audience instead of a mirror which is what a lot of amateur performers do.

I still do it to get the sleights i'm working on looking smooth! I think its the best way to work out any angle issues you might have with a given slight/move but it can only give you soon much feed back...there's nothing in the world thats as good to perform in front of then a real LIVE audience especially when you ve spent weeks sometimes months working on a routine and its ready.

you perform it and the reaction you receive is great it makes all the the practice and effort worth while...that's why ill be doing this job/hobby till the day I die!
